Hiking in the Mountains

Iva loves to hike in the mountains. (They aren't really "mountains", but they are to her. We need to get her back to real mountains.) She is always begging to go. She lucked out that we had a cool day and went to the mountains to hike with friends. Charlie skipped co op and came too. He loved it. We sure will miss our friends when they move. Jane's dad is finishing up dental school and they will move sometime this summer.

Easter Sunday

We had a great Easter Sunday. We woke up and went to 9 o'clock church. The Easter bunny left a note saying he would come after church. When we got home, Iva and Charlie were ready, but our home teachers set up an appointment with Shawn to come after church at church. So the Easter Bunny had to wait even longer to come.

 

 

After the egg hunt and eating too much candy, we had our Easter dinner. We made ham, mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls that didn't rise. It was delicious. Probably the best ham I have ever had. I have no idea why, but it was so good. Then Shawn made a peach cobbler in his grill. It was so good.

Eggs-travaganza

Midwestern had their annual Easter egg hunt the Saturday before Easter. We had a great morning meeting the Easter bunny, going on an egg hunt, bouncing, and decorating cookies. We were lucky enough that Shawn could take a study break and come with us.

Helmet Update

I haven't done a very good job at making sure Henry wears his helmet. In fact, he rarely wears it. Every once in awhile, Iva will bring it to me and say Henry needs his helmet so he will wear it for a few hours. We had his follow up/ measurement appointment. I knew we hadn't been wearing it, but hoped Henry learning to crawl and spending little to no time on his back was doing the trick. Well, nis numbers were much better and showed significant improvement. Phew. Hopefully, it keeps improving and maybe we will get better at wearing the helmet.

Joy School Egg Hunts

Iva and Charlie both had joy school Easter egg hunts on Thursday morning. I was trying to figure out how I could be at both, but Charlie told me he didn't want me to come. (Just lately, he has started walking to the door by himself and wants me to wait in the car.) They both had a lot of fun and love hiding eggs. They have had lots of egg hunts in the yard since.

Nine Months

Henry Dorsal is nine months old! I cannot believe it. Where did our tiny little baby go?

We love Henry. He is awesome. He loves to eat baby food and anything he can get a hold of. He still doesn't have any teeth, but the doctor said his gums were swollen and one was on the way. He still doesn't crawl crawl, but army crawls everywhere he wants to go. He crawls from room to room following Iva and Charlie. He loves watching them play and bugging them. He loves to get them any chance he can. He loves to pull hair. He talks a lot and smiles a ton. He loves to laugh and be silly. We love our Henry. 

Dance Recital

Iva took dance lessons this session from another student wife. She just taught them at her house, but Iva seemed to enjoy it. At the end of the eight weeks, they had a little dance recital. Iva did great. She was so shy and nervous, but she did it. I am so proud of her. She danced to two numbers. "Let it Grow" from the Lorax and "Everything is Awesome" from the Lego Movie.

Iva's best friend, Jane, did dance with her and I am 99% sure Jane is the only reason why Iva did it. But either way, we are so proud of her. And she keeps asking when she is going to dance again.
