Fifteen Months Old and One Week Old

Today Iva is fifteen months old and Charlie is one week old. Here is a little about the both of them.

Iva is awesome. I know I am biased because I am her mom, but she really is special. She is stubborn, but obedient. She listens, but doesn't listen. She cuddles, but doesn't cuddle. She gives kisses, but doesn't (unless you are Dug or Meg.) She loves everyone, but doesn't. She is a clown. She loves to make people laugh. She loves to fake laugh. She loves putting on a show. She eats anything and everything and has a serious food obsession. Her favorite food is edamame and recently she learned to shell them herself. It has tripled the time it takes her to eat them and I am more than ok with that. She has a few words- dada, mama, uh oh, there you go, thank you, Dug, hi, bye bye, etc. She is incredibly cute and runs around with a smile on her face. She has her moments, but they are far and few in between. I absolutely love her.

Charlie is amazing. He is the sweetest baby. He loves his swing. He has had a rough first week of life and just got off of his biliblanket and is done with heal pricks. He loves to cuddle and is snugly. Shawn is amazed at how quiet his cry is. He rarely cries- so far only when he is hungry. He has peed on Shawn and pooped on me. I am beginning to understand what it means to be a momma's boy. Charlie has no choice, but to be a momma's boy. He is only a week old, but I already absolutely love him. He is definitely part of the family and is supposed to be a Catmull.

Iva has been pretty indifferent when it came to Charlie. She ignored him for the most part- except for when she was tired or hungry and needed some extra attention. She did poke and pat him every once in awhile. That all changed today. It was like she accepted him today and decided they could coexist and be little buddies. She loves to hold him. She cries when I put him back in his swing and tries to pick him up. It is a good thing she is too little to actually do it. She likes to steal his blanket and then use it to tuck him in. She loves to shove his binkie in his face. I am sure they are going to be the best little buddies and worst of enemies. I can hardly wait.
