Hill Cumorah and Indian Echo Caverns

Grammie and Grampie Shaver are in town visiting. We decided to make the most of their trip and head to the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra.

We made the 5 1/2 hour drive to Palmyra and got there with enough time to tour some church sites before the pageant started.

We toured the E.B. Grandin Printing Press.

We walked through the Sacred Grove and enjoyed the Spirit there. We, also, went inside the Smith house. Leah made sure to tell the sister missionaries that she has seen Moroni before too- and then yelled on the Temple! What a sweet spirit.

We headed back to the pageant and had great seats. We enjoyed watching all the people walk around and enjoyed hearing their pageant stories. At about this time, we looked up and saw this...

A thunderstorm and lightning storm was heading right to the pageant. We sat in the rain for an hour or so and then they cancelled the pageant. We were sad to not have the chance to see the pageant, but were glad to see the church sites and feel the Spirit there.

Saturday morning, we woke up and headed home. We made a stop at Indian Echo Caverns. It is one of the places on our to see list before we head back to Idaho.

Iva and Shawn waiting for the tour in the "lobby cave." It was 52 degrees in the cave and was perfect for escaping the heat.

Iva did fine- minus the part when we experienced true darkness. She did not like that.

After a stop at the caves, we made another stop at the Outlets. I found some pretty good deals and it was the perfect ending to our weekend :)
