Airplane Adventures.

Our plans for Christmas were the same as last year- stay home and gladly welcome any visitors. (It is just expensive to fly and driving winter conditions aren't always predictable.) But lucky for us, Grammie and Grampie planned one last trip before they leave for Fiji and invited all of us along and made it possible for us to go. (THANK YOU!)

We spent Christmas in Florida having a blast with all our family. We took off on Christmas Eve and came home New Year's Eve.

Our trip there was easy... Charlie and Iva just played legos, watched their kindles and drank apple juice. Henry never made a peep and just sat on my lap sleeping or playing with his toys. The hardest part was checking our bags and getting through security.

Gone are the days of carry-ons only.

Target $1 spot legos. Maybe it is time for real legos.
The way home was a different story. The night before we headed home Iva and Charlie were up puking with their cousin Morgan. A lovely little stomach bug made its rounds through all the cousins. We held off on any food or drink hoping that if their stomachs were empty there would be no problems. Henry seemed fine and hungry so we fed him. Right as they began boarding, he puked all over me. I ran to the bathroom and got cleaned up as much as possible and we boarded the plane expecting the worst. And that is what we got. Right as we began to take off, Charlie puked all over- we made the mistake of letting him eat an apple sauce because he kept telling us he was hungry. The flight attendant brought me a bag for his clothes and that was it. So helpful. Henry had a vicious cycle of eat, puke, sleep going on and then he added in explosive diarrhea. Charlie and Henry just took turns puking and ended up in just diapers because all of their spare clothes were used. As much as I wanted to strip down too, I just sat in puke clothes. Somehow though it wasn't as terrible as it sounds. And I am so thankful Iva didn't move for the entire flight. She was asleep before we even took off and woke up as we were landing.

Iva realizing that we were all going home
(and not with each other.)
Cried herself to sleep waiting for our delayed flight.

Boise to Phoenix

So sad... our trip came to an end and we are home now. We had an easy trip home- minus the incredibly grumpy man sitting with his seat reclined in front of us on a teeny tiny 13 row 2 by 2 plane.

Iva and Charlie were champs and did even better on the way home than on the way there- I didn't think that was possible. The only hiccups were me dropping my card between the computer and desk at the check in counter and then the dropping of my ticket in the toilet- all of this happened before we even made it to security. Once we made it through security, it was smooth sailing.

Phoenix to Boise

We had no plans of traveling back to Boise until after baby #3 comes, but things change. Meg had the chance to go to the temple and take out her endowments this last week. She invited all of us to be there and thanks to amazing grandparents Iva, Charlie and I were able to be there for the big day. THANK YOU!

Iva, Charlie and I packed up and headed to Boise. We flew from Phoenix to Salt Lake to Boise. Our layover was 36 minutes and we amazingly made it. The babies were champs (once we made it through security) and did awesome on the quick flights. Best little travelers ever.

And we are off...

Next stop Denver. Then Delaware.

Grammie and Grampie dropped us off at the Boise airport. We got checked in and through security with no problems. We are just sitting at our gate waiting to board in an hour or so. We have one layover in Denver and then it is on to Philadelphia and a drive to Wilmington. Here is to happy travels!

Heading to Santo Domingo...

We had a great trip to Santo Domingo and Iva has proved to be (almost) perfect. She was a great traveller.

We drove to SLC and spent the night with Shawn's brother and his wife. They gave us all sorts of treats and we stayed up too late watching Walking Dead. But we had a great time.

The next morning our flight left at 6 am so we headed to the airport nice and early. We flew from SLC to Miami and then from Miami to Dallas. Iva didn't make a peep. We then had a five hour layover in Miami and that was just too much for Iva. She screamed bloody murder for 45 minutes straight. She managed to get it together for the flight- and that was a blessing.

Grammie and Grampie met us at the airport and off we went. We made it to the MTC where my parents have been staying the last 14 months. The Hornes were up and waiting to see us. We had a quick chat and then headed off to bed to get ready for the next day- our trip to the resort :)

Iva enjoyed laying on Shawn's lap.

Almost as much as sleeping on me :)

Lap sleeping made for some awesome hair.

It is a good thing Iva has toes to play with.

And her dragonfly.

After traveling all day, we look pretty sleepy.

Iva loved looking out the window.

She had some drool problems and I had some being slobbered problems.

Our five hour layover did make for a trip to TGIFridays!
