Phoenix Zoo (Again)

We used our final POGO pass to the zoo and it was a hit. The kids loved seeing all the animals, but they really loved the petting zoo and the splash pad. I loved having Shawn there.

Henry really got into it this time- it was his first trip to a splash pad walking. He was wiped up and fell asleep before we left the parking lot. I call that a successful day.

Knock off Kinder Eggs

Iva and Charlie were troopers grocery shopping on a super hot, long day. they picked out chocolate covered eggs for their treat. Iva remembered them from Grammie and Grampie's house and was so excited. They definitely did not disappoint.

Beating the Heat.

It is so hot and we are going a little stir crazy with Shawn being gone. On the one home from picking Iva up from school. they were begging to go to the mall and get a lollipop. I figured why not. So off to the mall we went. They played so good in the play place and I actually got to sit and just watch them- until Henry became comfortable and a little daredevil. We ended up staying at the mall until dinner time. Convenient, huh? And had a nice little dinner at the food court. It was the perfect evening and the kids are still talking about how awesome it was.

Swim Lessons

I know that I always say this, but we are so blessed to be here in Arizona for Shawn's schooling. Having such a great support group of student wives that understand being students and a students' budget is a blessing.

Because of this, we were able to sign Charlie and Iva up for swim lessons through a student wife, Kelli, in our ward. (We, also, babysat London so we got a price cut there too.) They learned so much more in this lesson than they did in their first at the aquatic center. And they loved all the attention they got. Especially Charlie.

First Day of School

Iva started her second year of preschool. Last year, we did a joy school twice a week for a couple hours. This year we jumped in head first and she is doing Head Start. It is Mon-Thurs 8-230. She is loving it.

On Monday, August 8th, she had short little orientation in her classroom. The teacher turned the kids loose in the classroom while she went over everything with the parents. Charlie and Iva were in heaven playing in the classroom.

School started on Wed, August 10th. She was so excited the first day of school. She was  a bit nervous, but there were no tears shed. She didn't even bat an eye when I dropped her off. She sure is growing up. 

Her favorite part of school is eating breakfast and lunch with her friends. She gets juice that is in a box and really hopes that I can find it at the store because she really likes it. Silly girl.
