Do We Look Alike?

We can hardly believe a month has come and gone since you joined our little family. We love you, You are really loved by your sister and brother. Iva loves talking in a squeaky voice for you and most of the time you are saying "I want my mommy" or "I am hungry. I want my bottle". Charlie loves to pat you and hold you. They get a kick out of you burping and not saying excuse me.  

You are super gassy! And tend to be fussy from about 5-8 at night, but as long as dad or I squeeze you tight you are as happy as can be. You don't like to be ignored and want to cuddle all day long. You like to sit up and look around. You have already smiled for us, but it takes a lot of effort. You take the best naps in your swing, car seat running errands, or in the baby wrap. You sleep at night in your crib and wake up at 2, 5,6,7... we are still figuring out the morning and your cluster feedings. You have slept through the night once- in a hotel after seeing the Grand Canyon. You have started to focus better, but still tend to go cross eyed. You are easily startled and wake easily. (You would think with Iva and Charlie running around you would be used to it, but nope.) You are growing and filling out quite nicely- Shawn says you even have the trademark Catmull leg roll that is impossible to resisit tickling. We tickle you lots and lots and you seem less than amused. We can't wait to watch you grow and see your little personality develop. I can already tell you are going to be a sweet, cuddle bug.

One Month Comparison...

People always ask if Charlie looks like Iva did when she was born. I always said no, but after looking at these pictures... maybe they do. I think Iva's hair makes it hard to tell... But what do you think?

Charles (Charlie) Wallace Catmull

Charlie is one month old and I can hardly believe it. This last month has gone by really fast (and really slow.) Charlie is a good baby. He has to eat at least every three hours or we really hear about it. (Some days he decides he needs to eat every two hours which is oh so fun.) He is putting on weight and growing. He was swimming in 0-3 month clothes for the first couple of weeks and now they are starting to fit nicely. He is an ok sleeper. We get one four hour period, but besides that he is up every three hours. He sleeps through everything though- even Iva's screams, cries, and laughs. He is starting to be awake more during the day. He is getting better about keeping his eyes from crossing and focusing, but still has a ways to go. He loves to be held and cuddled. He is a sweet baby. He has peed and pooped on both Shawn and I while having his diaper changed. He is teaching us already that boys are definitely different than girls.

One Month!

Iva is one month old. I can hardly believe it. She is getting better at holding her head up. She eats a ton. Sleeps pretty well- wakes up at 330 every night, but that is it. She is much more alert and looks at people now. She smiled smiled at Grandpa Catmull for the first time. The next day I worked hard and got two smiles out of her- it wasn't gas either. She is as cute as can be. She does have a baby mullet though ;) She is really mellow. She even fell asleep during our photo shoot tonight.
