Bear World, Scotty McCreery, and Grandma and Grandpa

We had a great weekend with great visitors. Grammie and Grampie came to Idaho Falls (really to see Scotty and Meg), but we were lucky enough to get to spend time with them when Meg was busy working and getting ready for the show. We had fun going to the Army Surplus store, Bear World, Applebee's with Meg, playing Munchkin, and, of course, rocking out to Scotty with a billion screaming girls

I only seem to have documented Bear World with pictures. The rain almost scared us away, but I am glad it didn't. We got to see lots of bears and hear Iva moo at the buffalo. We are still working on which animal makes which noise. It was 1/2 price weekend because it was cub a palooza. The baby cubs were about 4 months old and so cute. I really wanted to snuggle one. While we were watching the cubs, one ran in to the electric fence and got a pretty good shock- poor little guy.

Bear World

We made a family trip to Bear World. It was Cub Palooza and 1/2 price day. I have never been to Bear World before and have always wanted too so we decided to go for my birthday. I am glad we went- it did not disappoint.
Since it was 1/2 off admission day, it was a little crowded, but not too bad.
Welcome to Bear World!
Made sure to read the rules... it was a bit like Jurassic Park :)
Little Iva fell asleep before we even made it to Bear World.
Before you get "inside" of Bear World, you drive through a little scenic loop filled with other animals.
The deer were looking pretty scruffy- losing their winter coats.

A white elk- one in six million.
After the loop, we made it into Bear World and the real excitement began.
The first sighting :)
I thought this bear was pretty cute- just hanging out in the tree.
He eventually climbed the tree and made it pretty high.
Lesson learned= don't try and out climb a bear.
This bear came right up to the car window and stopped-
Shawn was worried about it scratching the car.
The tour bus got to stop and feed all the bears. Next time :)
After driving through Bear World, we got out of the car to head to the petting zoo and to try and sneak a peak of the Bear cubs (born in January.).We had perfect timing and they decided to come out and play while we were watching them. I even got to pet one of the little cubs. They were pretty cute and slightly scary.
Waiting in line to pet him.
They were still pretty uncoordinated.
So cute- getting stuck climbing over the log.
The cub ran over to the trainer and climbed right up her leg.
He gave her a "bear hug."
After seeing the cubs and watching them for a bit, we headed over to the petting zoo. Luckily, Iva had woken up at this point and she loved the animals- especially the pig- she couldn't stop smiling at it.
The chubby pig.
She thought about touching the goat, but decided to kick it instead.
Still thinking about petting the goat.
I got to feed a little deer. It was pretty cute.
Who knows what I am doing?
And a family picture :)
I highly recommend Bear World on 1/2 day!
