Glendale Glow

Shawn's friend from school/church invited us to go to a hot air balloon festival with them. It was downtown Glendale- the same place as Glendale Glitters. It was the last week of Glendale Glitters so all the Christmas lights were still up and surrounding the balloons. It was pretty neat to see the pretty lights and colors of the balloons.

Charlie thought it was pretty cool and kept pointing and saying look, look and what's that? Iva liked the balloons from afar, but got a little nervous when we would walk up to the basket and they'd light the balloon. The fire was "scawy".

We learned quite a bit about the balloons, but one of the most interesting things to me was that a balloon only has a lifespan of 500 hours and then it has to be retired. Or that when they catch on fire they don't so much as catch on fire, but rather all the sudden a panel will just light and be gone. Seems a little crazy to me- I think I will just stick to admiring the balloons from the ground.
