Charlie is a boy. He is our wild child that doesn't really think when he gets excited and just does whatever he wants without thinking about what might happen- like falling out of bed.
We let him up on the top bunk one night while getting ready for bed. He tried to turn off the fan and leaned way out and toppled out of bed. He didn't cry hardly at all and said he was ok. We put him to bed (in his crib) and he slept normal.
The next morning I got him out of his crib and put him down. He immediately burst into tears and crumpled saying his foot hurt. The whole morning and into the afternoon, I had to wheel him around in a stroller. Iva had her Halloween party so Charlie hung out with us for that. Every once in awhile he would forget and jump out of the stroller to immediately crumple to the floor in tears.
After the party, I decided to take him to urgent care. A few x-rays later, they told us his foot was broken and we needed to go to a cast specialists because they didn't have little boots. So off we went. We got Charlie the cutest little boot that lasted less than a day.
He wouldn't leave it on, but wasn't walking at all so we let it slide. The doctor said to follow his lead and see what he was up for, but make sure he didn't reinjure it.
The next day we went to the pumpkin patch. We didn't put the boot on because we didn't want it to get dirty and figured he could sit in the stroller or be carried. The second he saw the petting zoo he was out of the stroller and running around like nothing happened.
We are pretty sure he didn't really break his foot or he is an amazingly fast healer. Either way, we are just glad he is fine and we didn't have to worry about that clunky little boot.
