Sunsplash

We love POGO Passes! A LOT! One of the places on the POGO Pass is SunSplash (similar to wet n wild.) We went last year and knew we were going again this year. We went and had a blast. Charlie loved the big slides- even when I went with him and we somehow flipped off the tube and had some added excitement and lifeguard activity. Iva was really nervous and did not want to do the slides. After I flipped off with Charlie (as she was watching), we thought there was no way she'd go. She looked at me after we went and said "is that the baddest it could go?" I told her yes and she was ready to go (only with Shawn) and couldn't ride the slides enough. Henry, Emma and I spent a lot of time on the kiddie slides, in the wave pool, and eating treats.

Also, do you know how hard it is to get four children wearing puddle jumpers/ lifejackets into tubes in the lazy river? It was quite the balancing act, but once we were floating, Iva looked at me and said "oh, this is so relaxing." After all the balancing act and getting everyone situated, I appreciated that they decided to go around several times.

Enchanted Island

Shawn unexpectedly got home from his rotation early on his birthday. We didn't have much planned besides streamers and cake with presents. We decided to see if we had anything on the POGO pass and decided to see what Enchanted Island was. It had really bad reviews online, but we loved it! The kids had a blast. We were one of the very few people there which meant they didn't even have to get off the rides. They just got to go over and over again.

Phoenix Zoo (Again)

We used our final POGO pass to the zoo and it was a hit. The kids loved seeing all the animals, but they really loved the petting zoo and the splash pad. I loved having Shawn there.

Henry really got into it this time- it was his first trip to a splash pad walking. He was wiped up and fell asleep before we left the parking lot. I call that a successful day.

Sun Splash

Shawn had a day off during his psych rotation. We had been waiting for a day off besides Saturday so we could use the pogo pass and go to Sun Splash, a water park. We went and had a blast!

We got the kids used to the idea of water slides by starting out on the little toddler one. Then we went to a slightly bigger one. Both Iva and Charlie loved it. (Click on the links to watch the videos.)

After they went down the slides, Iva and dada headed off to the big slides. I, honestly, didn't think Iva would go, but she surprised me and went down all the slides with Shawn. She was begging to go down again and again. She loved it!

Charlie, Henry and I ate dippin dots and played in the splash pad area while they did the slides. It was a perfect afternoon with the perfect spots for everyone.

The family favorite was floating the lazy river over and over again. They loved it and Henry was a zombie baby. I think if we had gone around one more time, he would have fallen asleep. He was so comfy and relaxed. We will definitely be going back next summer.

Makutu's Island

My friend, Jackie, invited us to go to Makutu's Island with her and her kids. We both have POGO passes and it is one of the places you can go. I am not sure I would ever go back alone. The kids absolutely loved it, but it was crazy! It is a huge play place- imagine like ten McDonald's play places all connected inside a fake tree. And having 20 different possible ways to get out. I hardly got any pictures because I never had a chance chasing three different kids twenty different places. We did take a short break in the baby play area and I got some pictures there. And I got a video of Iva falling off the zipline. We will have to go back when we have helpers.

The Play Factory

Our little friend, Tomi, had her birthday party at The Play Factory. (Our POGO pass is good there.) We had a great time jumping around and climbing. We celebrated with a mini picnic and donuts! Iva loves Tomi and I am so happy they get along so well. Tomi's little sister is in Joy School with Charlie so it works out perfectly. They both have a friend to play with.

They told me Charlie was too light and not to let go of him because he might go straight to the top... uh... I wasn't a huge fan of him climbing, but he loved it. Iva climbed maybe a foot off the ground and started panicking. She was not a fan. But did it twice- with the same exact result.

Pump It Up

A little bit ago,we bought a POGO pass. Pump It Up was one of the participating venues, but it was stopping participating at the end of April so we decided to make a quick trip there with some friends who also have POGO passes.

Iva and Charlie had a blast. They loved it and were so worn out after. Charlie took a major spill and knocked his head on the metal arcade game. The workers were extra kind and helped out a lot- we got free icees, an ice pack, and lots of checks to make sure he was ok. My friend said they were making sure we didn't sue.
