We love having Shawn home on Saturdays and try to make the most of our free time. This Saturday we decided to head to the State Fair for Saturday Special $2 before 2. We were worried it would be crowded, but apparently, everyone else was smarter than us and didn't come to the fair when it was 100 degrees out. But that didn't stop us from having a blast.
We watched pig races and a tiny pig dive and swim. They were so cute and I am pretty sure there is a micro pig Catmull out there that will join our family one day. Shawn just doesn't know yet.
Iva had a blast riding the rides. She was tall enough for some of the bigger ones so got to ride with Shawn. And then on the smaller ones she was tall enough to ride alone so that Charlie could ride with Shawn. Charlie may be more like his mamma and was more happy drinking strawberry lemonade, eating fair food, and people watching than riding rides. Henry was just along for the ride and is a trooper. They had a dinosaur walk set up with moving and rawring dinosaurs. That was definitely a hit for our T-Rex loving Charlie. He was so excited to see "real pretend" dinosaurs.
We had a great day at the fair- hot, but great. I think I drank 10 gallons of water at the fair and 10 more once we got home. Henry was a drinking machine and we kept having to refill his water bottle every twenty minutes and change his diaper just as much.
