Fort Myers Beach

We stopped by Fort Myers beach and walked on the beach sand dollar and starfish hunting. Then we ate lunch on the boardwalk and walked around some more. Not much (but a lot at the same time) had changed since I had been there.

Mote Aquarium

Shawn really wanted to see a manatee. It was on his bucket list. Unfortunately, the water temperature was wrong and we couldn't see one in nature. After a few google searches, we found an "aquarium" that had manatees. It was more of a research lab, but they had manatees and Shawn was able to check it off his list. We sat and watched the manatees for a long long time. Shawn thought it was pretty amazing.

Thomas Edison Winter Home and All You Can Eat Hibachi

First, oh my, this was probably one of my favorite restaurants ever. All you can eat Hibachi and sushi. It was so good! I will definitely be going back and eating there again.

Growing up, we would go to Thomas Edison's Winter Home for field trips. It was fun to go back and see it as an adult. I don't know how much had changed or if I was really that bad at paying attention when I was younger. I, also, learned that Shawn HATES that people are taught that Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb.

Graduation Trip.

Shawn and I got to go on a little trip, just the two of us, to celebrate medical school graduation. It was awesome and so weird all at the same time. We really missed the kids and wished they were there, but also enjoyed running into 7 11 and grabbing a slurpee alone. It is the little things. We had fun days full of eating out, sleeping in, trying alligator for the first time (Shawn), going to the beach, swimming in Grammie and Grampie's awesome pool. Made me realize that I may be a Florida girl after all- or at least definitely, sunshine and somewhere warm girl.

Magic Kingdom

On Tuesday, we woke up bright and early to get into the park before opening to try and get in a ride before our Be Our Guest dining reservation. Henry (he was still sick) stayed home with Grammie and Grampie and we brought Morgan with us. We got there early- took a picture and rode Buzz Lightyear before our 7:30 am reservation.

Breakfast was nice and quiet. We ate french food in the Beast's castle. After, we ran next door and went to Belle's Enchanted Tales. Charlie and Morgan liked it- Iva wasn't awake or something. She wanted nothing to do with it.

We went on quite a few more rides and met more princesses. Charlie loved the princesses. Iva loved the rides and wanted nothing to do with the princesses.

We took a break for Mickey Mouse ears ice cream. Charlie was in heaven. He loves his treats and Iva was worried about how messy he was getting.

We, also, had a perfectly timed lunch break at The Plaza. I highly recommend it. It was quiet, cold, and reasonably priced. The kids meals were awesome and we had round two of ice cream.

After lunch, we did the Barnstormer and Ariel's ride. Ariel is Morgan's favorite princess. There was a long line all day to meet her, but we decided to brave it and were pleasantly surprised when it was less than 15 minutes even though it said 50 minutes. Ariel was the only princess Iva would take a picture with. She loved her tail.

After we finished up rides, we headed home for spaghetti dinner. We took one last picture and Iva was so excited to see Tinker Bell was in her photo.

We dropped off the kids with Grammie and Grampie. Shawn and I ran back to Disney world to get in a few more rides and have a little date night. We did Pirates twice, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We waited in line for 7DMT for forever, but I have never been on it before and wanted to do it once. It was ok, but definitely not worth such a long wait. We had a blast. I am sad I didn't even think to take a picture together childless, but we did get one on our Splash Mountain ride at 12:55 am so it was documented.
