Henry Two Months Old

Henry Dorsal Catmull
Weight: 12 lbs (45th%)
Height: 22 1/2 in (26th%)

Oh Henry, where to begin... Henry was a grumpy gus for the first little bit of life. He cried and cried from 5-8 every night. We would try everything and nothing seemed to really settle him down for long. Then, magically (or thanks to doterra oils), he grew out of that phase and hasn't looked back. He is a happy, content little guy now- except when he needs to poop. He still eats every two hours (3-4 oz). He prefers to nurse over a bottle- I prefer to pump. He won't take a pacifier and I have become a human pacifier. He takes his naps in his swing, but sleeps for the night in his crib. He goes to bed around 8:00 pm and wakes up at 2, 4, 6/7, and then 10. He always cluster feeds right as Shawn is leaving for school. He loves to smile, coo, and laugh. He loves to smile at Iva and pull her hair. He tolerates being held by her and Charlie. He likes to be sitting up and looking around. Dada got the first laugh out of him. If Henry is awake, he hates to be laying down and lets you know. He likes his bouncer chair and sleeping in his swing. He is a good little traveler- Eagle, Idaho Falls, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Sedona, and a pit stop in Lehi, UT.

We all love our Henry Hugamonster! And think he is so "tiny and tute". Don't you?

Life After Summer

Shawn is back in school and summer is over. The rest of us are trying to get back into a routine and settle down. We are having fun figuring out a new normal. So here is what we have been up to lately in the Catmull home.
Things are finally settling down and I have been able to find time to craft.

Iva is still a free spirit and absolutely loves her bike.
I can't wait until it cools down enough to go for walks/rides.
Henry is a happy little guy and seems to have gotten over his witching hour.
He still wants to be held/ given attention, but doesn't just cry and cry anymore.
We dog sit on Fridays for Ollie.
Dug likes Ollie, but Iva and Charlie do not.
We have tried another round of potty training.
We are slowy making progress, but Iva still asks for diapers. Grr.
Henry gets to sleep with me after Shawn leaves for school in the morning.
And he is my little cuddle bug.
He LOVES to be held and cuddled.
Iva's Artwork.
"My papa. He plays outside with me."
Charlie loves Henry.
And so does Iva.

These two love going to nursery together.
And they are always red cheeked and sweaty.
Iva loves to read and I love her long ponytail.

The Cabin

On Wednesday, Barbara/ Dale, Jason/Kelly and the rest of us headed to Island Park and Yellowstone to spend the day and night.

We got to the cabin a little bit before everyone else. Shawn split some wood to kill time. Iva and Charlie did not want to be left out. They both love helping their dada.

Once we dropped off Dug and grabbed some lunch, we headed to Yellowstone. We had a great day in Yellowstone. We saw a bear almost immediately after getting into the park. And I cannot believe it, but we only saw one buffalo/bison. We had amazing timing and walked up to Old Faithful right as it started to erupt. Iva and Charlie got special rocks from the village store. They started out with the same amount, but at the end of the night Iva had 11 and Charlie had three and Charlie didn't "lose" any.

On the way back to the cabin, we stopped for ice cream. Iva and Charlie sure enjoyed their play doh ice cream.

After a successful day, Iva counted her rocks and Charlie was Charlie. They both settled down quickly and went right to bed. I think that is a first for Charlie- he loves to stay up late when on vacation.

The next morning we woke up and went to Mesa Falls. I stepped on a live squirrel and nearly peed my pants. Talk about a weird feeling. My phone was dead so I didn't get any pictures, but it was beautiful and we saw a perfect rainbow.

Tautphaus Zoo

We had one rest/ travel day on Monday to Idaho Falls. On Tuesday, we hit the ground running and went to the zoo.

Grandpa Catmull came with us and we had a great time. Iva and Charlie absolutely love animals. When we first got there, the animal encounters show was just starting. They did great for the first part, but it was a little too long and wordy for them so we left a few minutes early to see the penguins. They just wanted to see the animals. They had a lot of fun walking around, feeding the goats, and petting the hedgehog.

The petting zoo was definitely a highlight. They both were so brave and fed the goats.

While we were in Eagle, Iva got a new zebra blanket and pillow and then new zebra pants. She had to wear them to the zoo. She was pretty excited to see real zebras and was even more excited to see the month old baby zebra. Maybe we have a new favorite animal? I would be ok to replace the octopus with a zebra.
