Aquarium

We made it to the Boise Aquarium one day. The highlight was feeding the birds. And attempting to feed the stingrays- I am not sure if Iva ever did, but she sure talks like she did.

Aquarium

Shawn had a day off and got to come home from Kingman for a bit. We took full advantage of it and headed to the aquarium. This was the first trip that we let Henry out of the stroller and he could roam free. He loved it. And almost swam in the touch pool. It was, also, the first time that Charlie and Iva weren't nervous about putting their heads in the bubbles. It was such a fun outing.

"Papa and Boppa"

Iva has been talking about Boppa and Papa coming to visit for forever! I am pretty sure she has been talking about it everyday since the day they left last visit. Well, they came and she was not disappointed at all and is talking about when they will be back again. Charlie and Iva both miss them and check the guest room to see if they are there randomly throughout the day.

We had a great visit with them and we got so spoiled. (Papa's June Jubilee celebration continued in AZ.) We played, anxiously waited for baby, swam, partied, ate, cooked, went to the aquarium, cuddled and more.

Iva and Charlie got a new pool from Papa and Boppa and are in it everyday (and would stay in it all night if we let them.) Iva wanted to help Papa blow it up- I am not sure how much of a help she was.

We had several fun outings while they were here visiting. A favorite was definitely the trip to the aquarium. Iva and Charlie were both so excited to see the sharks and fish. They really love the ocean, octopus and sharks.

Nemo!

We have a slight obsession with Finding Nemo in our house. It is Iva's favorite movie (Frozen is a close second) and the only one that Charlie will sit and watch. With our Finding Nemo obsession comes an aquarium obsession. We love any chance we get to go to the aquarium and were excited to go in Boise. The aquarium did not disappoint.

Sea Life Arizona

Round two... Shawn had spring break and wanted to do something fun for his last day of freedom so we found bogo tickets and headed to the Sea Life Arizona Aquarium.

Iva, Charlie, and I had been before with Grammie and Papa, but Shawn was in school then and didn't get to go. Iva remember the aquarium the second we pulled up. She was so excited to see the scary sharks, Nemo, and the turtles. She was not disappointed at all and it was just as fun the second time. Charlie refused to ride in the stroller and was so interested in everything. (He was a lot more brave than Iva. I was surprised.)

Sea Life Aquarium

Grammie and Grampie brought the rain with them when they came to visit. We decided to find a rainy day adventure and ended up at the Seal Life Aquarium in Scottsdale, AZ.

The aquarium was a big hit. Iva loved seeing all the fishes, turtles, and seahorses. She wasn't a huge fan of the shark tunnel and made someone carry her, but eventually she did walk through it on her own. Charlie was content and along for the ride. He did oh and ah here and there.

Iva thought this fish was "funny" because it had "two noses".

Iva loved all the Nemos, but wouldn't pop her head up.
The aquarium was inside a fancy mall. So afterwards, we ate lunch in the food court and walked around the mall. Of course, there was a stop to "ride" the toys. And grammie took a stop to ride the furry animals around the mall (somehow I didn't end up with a picture.)

We had a great little day trip and I am already counting down the days till Shawn has a break from school and can go with us to the aquarium.

The Aquarium

One of our days in Santo Domingo, we decided a trip to the Aquarium would be fun. I had read mix reviews of it in the Lonely Planet Guide book, but thought we would give it a try anyways. It turned out to be really cool. The aquarium was outside and right along the beach. So you could smell beach and feel the sea breeze. I loved it.

Notice the dark shadows in the water.
Some of the turtles were just hanging out at the bottom.
A couple were a little more active than the others.
They were entertaining to watch swimming around.
Iva was sound asleep.
It was windy and sunny so she stayed covered  up.
Hermit crabs, of course.
The shark pile up.
The Shark Tunnel.
We tried so hard to get a good picture of this guy.
But he wouldn't slow down for a photo op.
Although, I thought we did pretty good.
I have decided Eels are incredibly creepy.
He swam for us and was even creepier.
The beach and aquarium.
