S is for Snow

School is still a favorite. I taught the letter S and Iva wanted snow. She is obsessed with it. (Too bad she lives in AZ and not ID). We found a pinterest recipe that actually worked (conditioner and baking soda) and had a successful lesson playing with snow.

Tiny Dog Dress

My Morgan's Mom (or Aunt Liz) sent Iva the cutest dog dress. Iva calls it her favorite tiny dog dress and loves it. It is so cute on her. Thank you, Aunt Liz!

Helmet Baby

Henry has given us a run for our money... He has decided to be our little "problem" child. He really has had nothing really wrong with him, but enough to just give us a scare now and then.

When he was younger, he had to do physical therapy because he had a limp side and always held his hand in a fist. We don't know what it was (possibly an injury at birth?), but after PT he opened his hand and built up strength and he graduated. Well, the doctor thinks that limp side led to his head being flattened. She referred us to a helmet specialist to be measured and see if our insurance would cover a helmet.

The specialist scanned and measured his head. They divide the width by length (or the other way around) and 88% is average. Insurance usually covers it if it is 93-95% or above. Well, Henry boy is 98% so he will get to wear a cute little helmet for awhile. Fingers crossed he adjusts quickly to it and he gets it off before it gets too hot.

We had his fitting appointment (and a billion others in between) and go back for the actual helmet on Feb 29th. Iva and Charlie got to pick out the design for his helmet and out of 100+ choices they both picked the same T-Rex. I am getting nervous for the helmet and hoping that it is no big deal.

Cardboard Cars

I went and got a hair cut one night while Shawn babysat. When I got home, I had to peek in on the littles and blow them kisses. Shawn didn't tell me he had made them an awesome cardboard car or that they were both sleeping in it. I sure love their love/hate relationship. When it comes down to it, they really are best friends.

Arizona Winters

There is something truly amazing about Arizona winters. They are perfect. We have loved being able to play outside all day. Iva, Charlie, and Henry are their happiest when we are outside playing. Iva helped Shawn harvest the grapefruit tree and decide to sell them to Charlie and me. She loves driving her jeep, but has become a terrible driver. Charlie loves digging in the garden dirt and filling his dump truck with rocks. And Henry LOVES sitting in the little tykes truck and being pushed around by Charlie. (Thank you, Grammie Cindy and Craigslist.) We have hardly made it to the park this winter because they just prefer to play in the yard (and that is totally fine by me.)

Pool

One day, I was browsing AmazonPrime and saw an amazing deal on a swimming pool. I texted Shawn hoping he would give the approval and he did! Three days later the pool was here. I planned to wait a month or so to fill it, but our weather decided to be high 80s and even hit the 90s. So fill it we did!

Everyone loves it. I love how easy it is to just go out the door and be at the "pool". Sometimes we don't even take the time to put on suits. The one thing we worried about with moving into a house was losing the apartment pool. It may not be the same, but it definitely has done its job. I am sure it will get a lot more use when the weather is up in the 100s, 110s and 120s. I am melting just thinking about it.

Henry

Henry turned 6 months then 7 months and almost 8 months without me noticing. Where did baby Henry go? We bought him a high chair from IKEA because he had learned how to push himself out of the bumbo and we needed somewhere to contain him. Lucky for us, he loves the high chair!

Spring Training (College)

The last day of Spring break a man in the ward posted he had baseball tickets that he wasn't going to be able to use for a little college tournament. So we decided to see if we were ready for a baseball game. The kids were in heaven. Charlie loved cheering and booing with the crowd. He really got into the booing. Iva loved being outside and LOVED when we moved to outfield and she could run in the grass looking for a baseball. And Henry is happy as long as he is being held and getting attention.

Wildlife World Zoo

There are two zoos in Phoenix. We have been to the Phoenix Zoo quite a few times, but we had never been to the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium. It is pretty expensive, but we had heard it was worth it. Well, we lucked out and were able to join another preschool class and get the field trip price which was awesome! So the joy school buddies went to the zoo. They loved it! A lot more than the Phoenix Zoo.
Iva, Tatum, and Jane

They have a little nursery building for the baby animals. I don't think there is anything cuter than baby lions in a pack n play. (Besides human babies oohing and ahhing at them.) They were so cute and looked cuddly.

Charlie loves tagging along. He told me he loves Jane the other day, but this last time we had school, the water works turned on when he couldn't sit by Tatum. So I am pretty sure he loves both of them.

Medical School Graduation Banquet

So proud of this guy! Abby West, Jaimee Anderson, and I. Our husbands were med school buddies. Oh, Amanda Sebreros, she saved me s...
