Kate has a friend named Jane, who has a beach house in Ocean City. They bought their beach house in 1977. Jane and Jerry invited Kate and her family to come spend the day at the beach with them. We were lucky enough that we got to tag along.
Iva loved the beach. She loved crawling around the sand, eating handfuls of it and escaping. I don't think she sat still for more than 60 seconds. The waves were really big and Iva was not a huge fan of that, but enjoyed her time crawling/ walking around.
Shawnie boy is definitely a hit with Leah and Drew- even if he buries them in the sand.
After we were done swimming/ sunbathing, we walked the boardwalk while the Sookhoos stayed on the beach a little while longer.
Then we walked back to Jane's house and cleaned up. It was really nice to have somewhere to clean up. Jane took good care of us and served us appetizers before we headed to the boardwalk for dinner.
We had a good little dinner and then hit the rides. Shawn, Iva and I went on the carousel while the Sookhoos did other rides.
Sitting was not enough for Iva (and despite me telling Shawn she had to sit), Shawn let Iva stand and ride the carousel. We even had picked a horse that would go up and down for her.
We had a great day at "the shore." And slept so good last night despite a little sunburn :)
